What inspires you to be a miniature Artist?
My biggest inspiration as a miniature artist consists of two equal parts. The first is still being able to impress myself by learning techniques and putting them to use in my work. Practicing can often seem like you’re stuck in a rut and not progressing, but it’s a cycle. Eventually, the result is something you’re proud of and then the cycle begins again. I think it’s very important for an artist in any medium to have multiple personal projects for themselves to use as practice and growth while exploring their chosen medium and not limiting themselves to working solely on projects they intend to share publicly. There is a huge sense of freedom that comes when you have no concern for how others are going to perceive your work, and I think this is where the most substantial revelations are made within oneself and as an artist.
The second part of my inspiration comes from the community itself, the intrinsic motivation I’ve witnessed as a whole to share with and educate fellow painters is extraordinary. Everyone learns from everyone else, and it’s truly something special.
What does being an artist mean to you and helping MHCP:
Being able to express myself through drawing, painting, and music is essential to my existence, I’m not sure where’d I’d be in life without that. These passions offer me relief and restorative energy on a truly therapeutic level. Being able to assist MHCP in this position is also immensely fulfilling in knowing that something I created out of love and joy is helping others benefit in their own lives, even in the smallest capacity it’s still a huge win.
Thank You, Cyg! For Sharing Your Story With Us.
